Habit of the Mind
Striving for accuracy: Check it again! Always doing your best. Setting high standards. Checking and finding ways to improve constantly.
This habit of the mind emphasizes getting a task done correctly as opposed to just getting it done. Put this emphasis into practice with your homework, sports, music or anything you do where quality counts.

SAT Word of the Day
magnanimous (adj): having or showing a generous and kind nature; (magna=great, large) + (anim=life, spirit) + (ous=full of).
Remember this: Whether you call him Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, or Kris Kringle, it is unanimous that Santa is magnanimous.

Honolulu Police Department
The Honolulu Police Department will NOT tolerate violent acts on campus. BOTH parties WILL be arrested! Make wise decisions!

Personal Items and Theft
Many of today's teens carry a variety of technological devices, such as mp3 players, cell phones, digital cameras, portable gaming systems, etc. These items are often targets of theft in schools. Items such as school books and clothing can be targets of theft as well.

Please remind students of Kailua High School's contraband rule (cell phones and musical devices). Students should not have musical devices out during instructional time and cell phones are contraband.

McKinney - Vento Homeless Act (MVA)
